The car at the heart of it
Buttercup was Justin Tahai’s customized 1999½ Mk IV Jetta. As Justin wrote: “I drove my son home for the first time in that car.” This is her second life on the road.

Artwork and the real game
The promotional car and harbor images were generated earlier in this project and are reused here as concept art. They are not original photographs, verified records of the car’s exact trim, or captures of the current game. The image labeled “Actual Build 004 capture” is a runtime screenshot supplied with Build 004.
The playable build uses its own procedural graphics and synthesized audio. This website adds no third-party web fonts, music, remote scripts, or new generated concept images.
Influences, not affiliations
DRIVER, Twisted Metal, Wacky Wheels, and Viper inspired the creative direction. Their names, characters, assets, and trademarks remain with their respective owners. This is an independent tribute, not an authorized installment of those properties or an official Volkswagen game.
